Daniel William Marschke Loganville, GA Obituary, Cause of Death: In Loving Memory of Daniel William Marschke
Daniel William Marschke, 78, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, in Loganville, Georgia, surrounded by his immediate family.
Born on March 1, 1948, in Fairbury, Illinois, Daniel spent much of his early life between St. Joseph, Michigan, and Boulder Junction, Wisconsin, where his parents operated a hunting and fishing lodge. Those formative years shaped his lifelong love for the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, and wildlife appreciation.
After meeting his wife, Barbara, during his college years, Daniel built a life with her following his graduation from Western Michigan University. He later served on active duty in the United States Army Reserves before beginning a long and successful career in the petroleum and automotive aftermarket industry. His work with Gulf Oil Corporation eventually brought his family to Georgia, where he continued his professional journey and later retired from Permatex.
In retirement, Daniel devoted more time to his family, faith, and passion for the outdoors. He was especially dedicated to his five grandchildren, earning the affectionate nickname “Papa Fish.” He was a constant supporter in their lives, attending their activities and celebrating their milestones. His love for hunting and fishing took him across North and South America, and he earned recognition as a Grand Master Waterfowl Hunter. He was also a long-standing member of the Honey Creek Archery Club in Conyers, Georgia, where he remained active for over 35 years. His faith remained a central part of his life, and he was a devoted member of his church for many years.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Guenther C. and Ilene G. Marschke, and his daughter, Michele. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara; his children Lisa (Scott) Rhudy and Todd (Kate) Marschke; his grandchildren Jonathan, Kaitlyn, Lauren, Davis, and Owen; his brother Bruce (Marcy) Marschke; and many extended family members and loved ones.
He will be remembered for his devotion to family, his love of the outdoors, his strong faith, and the warmth he shared with everyone who knew him.
