The cast and crew of the television series Marshals are mourning the loss of Leonard “Lenny” E. Hancock Jr., the show’s respected prop master, who tragically passed away following an off-road UTV accident in the Lake Havasu area in December.

The series honored Hancock with a memorial tribute card displayed at the end of a recent episode, which read: “In Loving Memory of Leonard ‘Lenny’ E. Hancock Jr.” The tribute highlighted the deep respect and affection held for him within the production team.

Lenny Hancock Jr. was widely admired in the entertainment industry for his creativity, professionalism, and exceptional attention to detail. Colleagues describe him as someone who brought passion and dedication to every project he worked on, ensuring authenticity and depth in the visual storytelling of each production.

Sherill Watts, a close colleague who worked with Hancock and later helped organize a GoFundMe campaign following the accident, shared heartfelt reflections on his life and impact. She described him as someone who gave his full commitment not only to his craft but also to the people around him.

“Losing Lenny has been heartbreaking,” Watts said. “He touched so many people, and the stories shared about him show just how much he meant to everyone. He showed up fully for his work, his friends, and his community.”

Behind-the-scenes footage from Marshals also showcased Hancock’s dedication to his craft, including his careful design of props, costumes, and tactical gear used by characters to enhance realism. He was known for emphasizing authenticity and storytelling through visual detail.

Colleagues recall his humor and down-to-earth personality, often joking about the complexities of his work and even giving tours of the production’s mobile “prop house,” which became a memorable part of the set experience.

The series, which stars Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton alongside Logan Marshall-Green, Arielle Kebbel, and others, has continued production while honoring Hancock’s legacy.

Leonard “Lenny” E. Hancock Jr.’s passing has left a lasting impact on his colleagues, friends, and the broader television production community. He is remembered for his creativity, dedication, and the warmth he brought to every set he worked on.

His memory will continue to live on through his work and the many lives he touched throughout his career.

May he rest in peace.
